My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goal is for you to gain healing, hope, and healthy coping skills that will help you deal with life in the best way possible. I am passionate about helping my clients realize any distortions in their thinking and beliefs about self, and move on toward telling themselves the truth. By telling ourselves the truth, we are able to work without false beliefs that hinder our healing and success. I also find great joy helping clients work toward God-honoring relationships.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I will come alongside in a very supportive and nurturing way, offering you a safe space to process. I am quite personable and will treat you with a caring attitude and a great deal of respect. I am very process-oriented, because I believe that internalized anger and depression are harmful to individuals. It’s important to me that you feel able to trust me as your therapist so you are free to talk about your thoughts and feelings. This will help you sort out your feelings and thoughts, express them, and come to good decisions.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
I believe that having a distinctly Christian approach to counseling gives hope and determines some of the basic values and ideologies that are vital to the healing of Christian clients. Scripture is helpful to people for healing, hope, and direction in how to live and has an important impact on our decisions in life.
Qualifications & Experience
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a BA in Psychology from Christian Heritage College and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University. I have been counseling professionally since 1996.
My Call to Christian Counseling
I decided to pursue Christian counseling as a career path because I felt led to help people heal, to nurture them in the Lord and in life, and to help lead them to their best life possible.

Anxiety
I believe that anxiety needs to be explored and expressed. As your counselor, I will help you investigate your thoughts and feelings and identify which thoughts and core beliefs are contributing to feelings of anxiety. I will support you in finding coping skills to best deal with anxiety and manage it in a healthy way.
Premarital Counseling
I have been married for 18 years, and I realize that marriage is difficult at times. It can also be fantastic and supportive! I love to help equip my clients with tools for marriage, including a good understanding of the five love languages (by Gary Chapman), as well as an understanding of healthy communication skills and exploration of how to be supportive of each other’s life dreams.
Family Counseling
I enjoy working with families to explore the unique dynamics and work within those dynamics to help each individual feel heard and supported. I have been part of many family counseling sessions in which teens were finally able to talk about their thoughts and feelings.
Women’s Issues
I enjoy helping women face the issues in their lives, whether it includes bad past relationship experiences, trauma, or issues concerning women’s health and motherhood. I will come alongside you to help support you through difficult issues, and to develop increased healthy skills and social support. One of the most effective tools is to learn about how our thoughts contribute to our emotions, and how to manage them all.
